Saturday Blog Hop & VOTE FOR CORBIN

First things first.  Corbin is trying to win a contest at BISSELL.  He (and his mom) are trying to win $10,000 for the shelter of their choice.  And they will give the money to Homeward Bound, the shelter Corbin was rescued from.  Corbin needs some more votes, so please vote for him.  (He is a very cool guy!!)

Go here to vote!  You can vote once per day per email address!  Please him out.  Homeward Bound could save so many more great dogs, just like Corbin!!

Lola's Toys

For Christmas Lola got a  Tuffy's Ultimate Tug-o-War dog toy and a Kong Flyer.  Lola has got her money's worth out of the toys.

As you can see with the tuffy, she has made holes in the toy and pulled out all the stuffing and the squeakers.  With the Kong flier she has pulled the rim off of it.  But she is still able to play with it.

I think it goes without say, that Lola has loved both toys.

Feels Like Spring

I was one of the lucky ones, that had Monday off.  It was one of those winter days, where it felt like spring is right around the corner.  Now I am well, aware that it is only January and we still have 2 or 3 months of winter.  But it was a get day.  Lola even enjoyed the warm weather.  She went out on the deck and kept an eye out for those evil squirrels.

And later in the afternoon we went for a very nice walk.  It was warm and I did not even need a jacket.  It was great.  I love the warm weather so this is a nice break in the middle of January.

Lola and Bear - Part 3

I have done a couple posts, (here and here) about Lola and Bear.  If you remember Lola and Bear were not to fond of each other when they first met.  And they were slowly getting better in my last post.  Lola got to go visit Bear and Otis quite a few times in December.  So they had a lot of time to work out their issues.  And I am happy report that they are doing well together.

They really just ignore each for the most part. But they are great team when it come to squirrel hunting.  They can keep squirrels trapped in trees for hours.  And Lola even ran into Bear a couple times and he did not even care.  The only issue that we still have is when Lola and Otis are playing.  Bear still does not seem to understand the play aspect and start to go after Lola. So for the time being he is inside while the ball is being thrown for Lola and Otis.

Bear will even share the couch with Lola now.  Although, Lola will not get up on her own.  Somebody has to go over to the couch and tell her is it ok and make sure Bear doesn't growl at her.  I guess she learned not to rustle any feathers.

Lola and Bear sleep on the couch.  Yes, that is how bear sleeps.

And because I can't leave Otis out.  Here is a picture of the three of them, Bear, Otis and Lola.  I could not get them all sitting in a line.  Lola had to be the odd ball

Snow!

We finally got our first real snowfall of the season.  It seemed like everybody else was getting snow and it was just skipping over us.  (The Colorado mountains were getting a ton of snow but all the storms fizzled out as they went of the continental divide.)  But this past past weekend a major storm came through.  We got about 4 inches of snow, but the worst part was the cold.  We had high temperatures of about 15 some days.  Way to cold.  In fact is was too cold for Lola to even enjoy running around and playing in it.  And with the cold I now know that I need to get Lola some kind of coat. So I will begin my search for that.

Happy New Year

I know I have been slacking on the blogging front.  And I know Lola is not too happy about it.  So, I figured a good way to come back would be a post about Lola's Christmas.

Lola got two very nice gifts for Christmas.  A Tuffy's Ultimate Tug-o-War dog toy and a Kong Flyer.  Lola has has a Kong flyer before and loved it, (Sadly, it did eventually come to its end.  But it lasted a very long time), so I knew she would be happy with that.

Lola has loved all the Tuffy toys I have bought her, so I was hoping for an equally good result.  And let me tell you, she absolutely loves it.  She carries it around with her everywhere. In fact she even sleeps with it.
